Family members were in the morgue to await the post-mortem to be completed.

YB Manikavasagam (MP Kapar) mentioned during the brief press conference outside the UMMC morque that a postmortem has been carried out by pathologist Dr. Prashant into possible causes leading to Gnanaprakasam’s death. Results will be made known on Monday morning (15/06/2009)
YB Elizabeth Wong and Miss Renuka (appointed family lawyer from the Bar Council, engaged by YB Sivarasa) were also present during the press conference.

(The videos were substandardedly recorded under very poor lighting outside the morgue. Pressmen were not allowed into the morgue waiting area.)

What the Police said….
Police did a post mortem at University Malaya Medical Centre. According to Selangor police chief, Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said the post mortem revealed that Mr Gnanaprakasam died of an intestinal infection (blood poisoning).

“Cause of death toxemia secondary to peritonitis, ie, blood poisoning due to inflammation of peritonium. Family to be briefed by Dr. Prasant 8.30am Tuesday.” – reported in a posting by Haris Ibrahim in The People’s Parliament. The full disclosure of the post-mortem report has yet to be made available to the family to-date!
